I was so stuffed at the end and had a great experience overall. To end the meal, we enjoyed French press coffee with an amazing espresso crème brûlée. Bae said his filet mignon was awesome as well. Perfectly cooked and had a nice sweet hint from maple syrup. I selected the grouper for my main and it was so, so yummy. Our server brought out a lovely amuse bouche of truffled crab claws in between courses, compliments of the chef (thank you!!). Bae tried the phyllo wrapped shrimp which were also totally delicious. I would say it was about 90% comprised of large sweet chunks of crab - hands down the best crab cake I have ever had. For appetizers, I opted for the crab cake, which was ridiculously good. Their house made bread, served with olive tapenade was awesome. It took a while to select a bottle from their extensive wine menu but we went with a Sean Minor Four Bears pinot noir which was excellent. Bae and I decided to «splash out» on our visit to Sanibel Island this year and opted to enjoy a lavish meal here. Possibly the best fine dining experience I have had to date in Florida. If the food was not good, we would have given this restaurant one star based on how we were treated. It is pricey like other reviewers said but that didn’t bother us because we are from Chicago and know you have to pay for quality food. The food was very good compared to other food we had on the island… We wouldn’t know about the salad or appetizers because we weren’t offered any. One even brought the baby fresh berries while we waited for her actual dinner. The other servers seemed to be very good. Another server finally came and got everything. She didn’t even clear our plates and brought out the ice cream for the baby and still didn’t clear our plates. We ordered steak and lobster so you would think that she would improve her service but no. We were obviously being treated very differently than the other patrons. We had to ask for drinks, we had to ask for the specials. She just came to the table and stared at the baby and looked at us with big eyes and asked if we were ready. Then we were sat… Our server must have been terrified of children. The hostess quickly asked us if there was going to be a problem because we have to be respectful to the other people eating. We had a toddler with us who was not crying or screaming but she did laugh loud while we were waiting for a table. You are NOT welcome, at lease they definitely make you feel that way. If you have a baby or a small child - stay away.
